Inc.edu: What Should I Charge? A Strategy for Pricing and Selling

Within today’s volatile marketplace, traditional small-business pricing strategies don’t stand a chance. But there are ways to outsmart the open market. Did you know that different market segments value different signals to purchase (or not purchase) your products? Learn how brand positioning impacts what and how you sell to customers, why brand positioning is more important for sales than marketing, and why you should be selling on value creation rather than discounting. Also, find out the psychological drivers informing purchasing decisions of your customers. Walk away from this session with greater awareness on how to develop long-term relationship with your customers (not to mention margins that support business growth). Additional fee to participate.

Instructor: Lisa Hendrickson, founder and president, Spark City

Inc.edu: How to Build a Sales Organization that Keeps Up with (and Drives) Your Growth

What will keep your customers from defecting to the next new thing? Three words: Your sales force. This team is the face of your company, what makes it human and what makes it difficult for customers to leave. Great customer-sales relationships see competitive threats sooner, uncover hidden needs and opportunities earlier and leverage strong relationships easier. What’s the right sales organizational structure? How do recruit, compensate  and train the best people? In this workshop, we will (1) learn the conceptual foundations of building and growing an effective sales organization, (2) discuss best practices in implementing each and (3) choose a few participants to discuss their unique situations.

Instructor: Jeff Krawitz, adjunct professor of marketing, NYU Stern School of Business; and professor of marketing, Columbia University

In this fun and interactive workshop, participants learn to develop their own Great Game to keep people focused on a common goal, encourage employees to work together and build a winning team, create line of sight between team contributions and your company’s strategic goal, reinforce business and financial literacy training, and develop an engaged team that drives results and creates wins. Additional fee to participate.
